Eligibility

Candidates must posses a minimum of five(5) credits in their O'Level SSCE/NECO/WAEC/NABTEB in relevant subjects including Mathematics and English.

Acceptance

Candidates are required to pay an Acceptance Fee of N10,200 to the Metallurgical Training Institute, using the Remita RRR code

Steps & for Acceptance Fee payment

  • Visit the accounting department
  • Generate Remit RRR code
  • Make a payment at any commercial bank of your choosing and obtain the payment receipt.
  • Retrieve the receipt from the accounting department using the bank's copy of the Remita payment.
  • Submit the receipt for payment of acceptance fee to the Admission officer for documentation

Screening and Confirmation

Candidates are required to admission officer with proof of payment of the Acceptance fee and a printout of their documentation for the physical screening of their credentials.

Candidates who pass the screening will receive a Confirmation of Provisional Admission letter, allowing them to pay their school fees into the school account using a Remita RRR code.

Registration

  • After paying the school fees, candidates are to visit the Exams and Records unit for file opening
  • Candidates collects the list of courses from department for course registration
  • Then , candidates visit MTI’s portal (www.mti.org.ng) for course registration.
  • Finally, candidates print completed registered courses and submit to department for signing

About us

Metallurgical Training Institute is a federal government-owned tertiary institution and a parastatal under the Federal Ministry of Mines and Steel Development. It is accredited by the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE).

The mandates of the Institute are as follows:

  • Training of low and middle level technical manpower in maintenance and repair works for the steel and allied industries in Nigeria
  • Creating a pool of indigenous technical workforce that can erect, commission, operate and maintain the steel industries,including oil and gas sectors of the economy, thereby reducing Nigerian dependence on foreign technical workforce
  • Further training of skilled personnel already employed in Steel and Allied Industries
